EFL teachers for our Ramallah, Jerusalem, Nablus and Hebron offices
AMIDEAST/West Bank is searching for certified experienced EFL teachers for our Ramallah, Jerusalem, Nablus and Hebron offices in the West Bank. Our EFL trainers are responsible for teaching adults (ages 17+years) and children (ages 6-16 years approximately) with various proficiency general English, conversational English, ESP, and/or test preparation courses. Our EFL teachers are also responsible for tailoring material to meet the needs and demands of our clientele.
Qualifications
- Fluent English speaker;
- BA in TESOL, Language Education, English OR BA in a related field; certification such as TESOL, TEFL, or CELTA, from an accredited university or institute preferred.
- MA in ESL, EFL, and/or TESOL is preferred;
- Minimum equivalent of 2 years teaching experience in an educational institute; Experience mentoring and observing is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, customer service, and problem solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress;
- Highly professional, organized and dependable;
- Able to interact with students of all ages and skill levels;
- Experience leading a classroom and creating interactive student-centered lesson plans;
- Flexibility as to the hours/schedule of teaching; and
- Proficient computer and internet skills.
Tasks and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:
- Arrive for classes on time, fully prepared with lesson plans in-hand to teach the full period;
- Create interactive lessons with supplementary materials from course curriculum that engages learning in the classroom;
- Follow up on students’ performance and provide updates concerning the progress of each class and any occurrences that may need follow up from administration;
- Provide continuous feedback to students on their performance;
- Adapt designed syllabi to suit the needs of the clientele with approval from supervisor;
- Correct and grade reports, assessments, and submit a final evaluation per individual, reports and requested data in appropriate formats;
- Prepare, review, evaluate and revise reports and other course materials, and participate in ongoing development and review of curriculum;
- Participate in staff –development programs, including workshops, in-service training programs, visits by academic specialists, and other activities;
- Follow all standard procedures detailed in teacher handbooks or elsewhere.
